Day 22 – Foot = Zero Day

“Let’s be careful out there” -Sgt. Esterhaus, “Hill Street Blues”

You never stumble or trip on the more difficult parts of the Trail because you are paying such close attention. It is always on the more smooth parts because you look up. My “gotcha” moment was on what appeared to be a smooth part of the path covered by leaves. Unfortunately under the leaves there were loose rocks.

My foot is still swollen. I have an appointment at the clinic tomorrow at 8:30am. Hoping for some good news. Will let you know.

Bored out of my mind from sitting with foot up all day.

  1. Sorry to hear of your bad luck Janet. Let’s hope for a good report from the Doc tomorrow. Maybe you’ll only be down a short time. Stay positive. 🙏🏻

  2. hoping the doctor tells you to just rest your foot a few days so you can continue on your journey. They say hiking the AT is more difficult mentally than physically. I know you have the mental stamina. Now to just get your body to cooperate. Take care of yourself my friend.
